Interview with the legendary Brazilian Thrash metal God Max Cavalera

I have no words to explain how happy i feel that we got an opportunity to interview one of the thrash god himself. Yes i am talking about non other than Massimiliano Antonia Cavalera a.k.a Max Cavalera. To be honest he is one of the guy who made me much serious in metal. Words will be less if i start talking about Max.. Special thanks to my buddy Matt  bacon from Two Guys Metal Reviews and Gloria mam for making this possible. Its possible because of these two people that we were able to interview Max.. So without further delay.. Here you go our talk with  MAX CAVALERA..

Greetings Max before I began I will like to thank you for providing us this opportunity to interview you. You are an idol and source of inspiration to many bands as well as metal heads from around the world. Tell us since 1984 until now how has your journey been tell us how hard was it to start SEPULTURA?

IT WAS VERY HARD, BUT NECESSARY.  WE WERE POOR, BROKE, AND PISSED OFF KIDS LIVING IN A THIRD WORLD COUNTRY.  METAL WAS THE PERFECT MUSIC FOR US.  IT FELT GREAT TO RELEASE AND UNLEASH ALL THOSE FEELINGS THROUGH METAL.  ALMOST LIKE A THERAPY SESSION. 

Well Max, I will like to start with SEPULTURA as my intention of this interview is to cover your entire journey from 84 upto now.  You and Igor started the band in 1984 tell us how did the concept of Sepultura arise?

WE SAW A BRAZILIAN BAND CALLED “DORSAL ATLANTICA.”  THEY WERE LIKE THE BRAZILIAN VENOM.  THEY KICKED ASS, AND AFTER WE SAW THEIR SHOW WE DECIDED TO MAKE A BAND OURSELVES.  IT WAS LIKE IF THEY CAN DO IT, WE CAN DO IT TOO.  WE ARE FROM THE SAME COUNTRY AND ARE ALL THE SAME. 

To be honest Sepultura’s 4^th Album (Your last studio release with them) ARISE made me much serious in Metal music and is my 2^nd tape which was gifted to me by my dad on my 13^th birthday around 11 yeas back. In March 1985 after Lamounier (Founder Sarcofago) left the band you served the duty of vocals as well as lead guitars. The bands 1^st release was an Split EP with Overdose named Bestial Devastation and if I am not wrong it was all recorded in 2 days.

WE HAD TWO DAYS TO RECORD THE ENTIRE EP.  THERE WAS NOT MUCH MONEY DURING THOSE DAYS, SO EVERY MINUTE COUNTED.  WE DID A DEMO SONG FIRST FOR THE SONG “NECROMANCER,” AND IT CAME OUT GREAT.  SO WE JUST WENT BACK TO THE STUDIO, J.G. STUDIOS BELO HORIZONTE, AND RECORDED THE WHOLE EP. 

Your journey with Sepultura was from 1984 until 1996 in which 6 albums were Morbid Vision in 1986 which had elements of Death Metal, Schizophrenia in 1987 which was more stylistic change to Thrash Metal yet still keeping Death Metal elements of Morbid Vision. If I am not wrong this album gave Sepultura much response beyond Brazil and signing with Road Runner records. In 1989 Beneath the Remains it was also considered all time Top 20 Best thrash Metal album. In 1991 Arise was released which is considered Sepultura’s Pure Thrash metal album as well as critically praised globally as al time best Thrash metal album, 5^th album Chaos A.D which was released in 1993 considered as the bands evolution from Thrash Metal to industrial hardcore punk, we can even hear the changes in the bands music elements in the 6^th album Roots released in 1996 which is considered as Modern Classical Brazilian Heavy metal album which was your last album with the band. Tell us why with every release the band was experimenting with the sound.

WE NEVER STOP EXPANDING.  WE NEVER WANT TO DO THE SAME RECORD TWICE.  IT WORKS IF YOU ARE ACDC OR SLAYER, BUT NOT SEPULTURA.  WE WERE NOT AFRAID TO TRY DIFFERENT THINGS, AND WE DID NOT CARE WHAT PEOPLE THINK.  WE BELIEVED IN WHAT WE WERE DOING AND THAT’S IT.  WE NEVER REPEAT OURSELVES. 

Can you tell us about the Brazilian metal scene back then when you started with Sepultura how hard it was? Tell us how you feel remembering those days. I really want to know cause I read it in one of your interviews and its quite similar to our Present situation of the Nepalese underground scene. “Travelling on trains, Getting beat up by cops, Sleeping behind the stage. Its part of growing up, Its part of the nature of this stuffs. If you don’t have that kind of background, you can’t be a band like us”.

WE DID IT ALL.  SLEPT UNDER THE STAGE, WENT ON 54 HOUR BUS RIDES TO NORTHERN BRAZIL, DRINKING HOT WHISKEY AND GETTING FUCKED UP.  I STOLE MY FIRST MICROPHONE FROM A NEW WAVE BAND AND WE DID CRAZY SHIT LIKE THAT ALL THE TIME.  IT WAS FUN.  I ALWAYS LOVED BEING A METAL HEAD.

Your last show with Sepultura was in 16^th December 1996 at Brixton Academy in London which was few months later after your Step son Dana Wells died in a road crash you left the band. Can you tell us why you left Sepultura?

I LEFT BECAUSE I BELIEVE IN INTEGRITY.  I’M A LOYAL GUY.  IF YOU’RE MY FRIEND, YOU’RE MY FRINED FOR LIFE.  THERE IS NO BETRAYAL, AND THE OTHER 3 SEPULTURA GUYS HAD OTHER IDEAS IN THEIR MINDS.  THEY DIDN’T CARE TO FUCK PEOPLE OVER, AND I BELIEVE IN KARMA.  WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND KIND OF STUFF.  SO I COULDN’T BE PART OF THE SEPULTURA THING ANYMORE.  IT WAS A HARD DECISION, BUT I STILL STAND BY IT EVEN TODAY.  MY INTEGRITY IS IMPORTANT TO ME. 

Max, can you share us some of your best memories with Sepultura?

SOME OF MY BEST MEMORIES WITH SEPULTURA WAS PLAYING THE 2^ND ROCK IN RIO IN THE MARACANA STADIUM.  OUR FIRST SHOWS IN EUROPE AND AMERICA.  FIRST SHOWS IN INDONESIA AND RUSSIA.  IT WAS CRAZY EXCITING TIME IN MUSIC.  A  LOT OF CHAOS AND FUN DURING THOSE DAYS. 

Well, our talk about Sepultura ends here. Coming to Nailbomb the band was active for 1 year i.e. from 1994 to 1995. Tell us more about it?

NAILBOMB WAS CREATED BY ME AND ALEX NEWPORT OF FUDGE TUNNEL.  I LOVED FUDGE TUNNEL, AND WANTED TO DO A MORE CROSSOVER RECORD OF METAL AND INDUSTRIAL MUSIC.  WE WERE LISTENING TO A LOT OF MINISTRY, GOD FLESH, FEAR FACTORY, ETC.  IT WAS ALL DONE IN MY HOUSE IN PHOENIX, AZ.  IT’S A TRUE DO IT YOURSELF KIND OF PROJECT.  WE DID A LOT OF PROGRAMMING DRUM MACHINES AND WROTE ALL THE RIFFS TOGETHER, MYSELF AND ALEX.  WE ALSO SPLIT ALL THE VOCALS BETWEEN US.  I STILL LOVE POINT BLANK.  IT’S ONE OF MY FAVORITE ALBUMS I EVER DID. 

Coming to Soulfly, one question arises in my mind with every new album there is the change in Soulfly’s lineup. Max can you tell us why?

 SOULFLY IS A DIFFERENT PROJECT.  IT’S SUPPOSED TO CHANGE FROM TIME TO TIME, AGAIN, NOT REPEATING OURSELVES, AND TRYING NEW THINGS WITH THE MUSIC.  FEARLESS!!!

If I am not wrong your son Zyon is serving the duties on Drums from 2012 how and your elder son Richie done vocals for the 3^rd album Prophecy how it feels working with your son.  Cause we rarely hear or see (next to impossible here in Nepal) that a father and son playing together in a same metal band.

IT’S GREAT THAT ZYON PLAYS DRUMS ON SOULFLY’S SAVAGES AND THE NEW ALBUM, AS HE DID A GREAT JOB.  THE WHOLE FAMILY IS INVOLVED WITH METAL AND SOULFLY.  IT’S GREAT!. 

Seriously we rarely get to hear that entire family member’s active in music. Your wife Gloria managing your bands from the times of Sepultura, your kids collaborated in your various project Richie who has done vocals to albums by Cavalera Conspiracy and Soulfly, played occasional guitar on Nailbombs live album. As far as I know he is fronting Incite. Igor (Max’s son) and Zyon are active on Lody Kong. Jason works as Bass technician for Cavalera Conspiracy and Drums technician for Soulfly entire family is active in the music industry which is a really cool thing. I wish to have it the same in my family in future.

WE HAVE A GREAT SYSTEM.  GLORIA MANAGES ALL OF US.  WE HAVE INCITE AND LODY KONG, AND I JAM WITH IGOR AND ZYON FOR THE NEW SOULFLY ALBUM.  IT WAS INSANE.  I LOVE PLAYING METAL WITH MY KIDS..

Coming to Cavalera Conspiracy was formed in 2007 the band is even considered as the reunion of the 2 brothers after 10 years. How does it feels starting of a new band with your young brother?

IT’S AMAZING.  I LOVE MY BROTHER, AND IT WAS VERY HARD TO NOT TALK TO HIM FOR 10 YEARS, BUT IT ALSO BROUGHT US CLOSER.  WE ARE CLOSER NOW THAN EVER BEFORE, AND I LOVE THE WORK WE DO IN CAVALERA CONSPIRACY. 

Tell us how did you come up with starting Cavalera Conspiracy and if I am not wrong the initial name of the band was inflikted?

INFLIKTED WAS THE FIRST NAME OF THE GROUP AND THEN I SUGGESTED TO IGOR THAT WE CHANGE TO CAVALERA CONSPIRACY.  HE LOVED THE NEW NAME, AND WE WROTE THE FIRST ALBUM IN A MONTH, AND CALLED THE ALBUM “INFLIKTED.” 

Max, in 2011 you along with Greg Puciato formed Killer be killed tell us much about this band. As to be honest I haven’t heard about this band I just came to know about it while I was conducting some intense research about your projects.

GREG AND I FORMED KILLER BE KILLED.  IT’S KIND OF LIKE A SUPER GROUP WITH TROY FROM MASTODON IN IT.  I LOVE THE SONGS AND THE VIBE OF THE RECORD.  IT’S VERY DIFFERENT FROM EVERYTHING THAT I DO.  MORE MELODIC, AND A LOT MORE FUN. 

So Max you have been part of the metal scene from almost 31 years and even Collaborate in around 13 projects including Nirvana’s drummers and Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl to produce “Red war” of Grohl’s metal project, Probot. Tell us about it?

DAVE GROHL CALLED ME YEARS AGO AND ASKED ME TO BE IN THIS PROJECT CALLED “PROBOT.”  HE SENT ME THREE SONGS TO CHOOSE FROM AND I CHOSE “RED WAR” BECAUSE IT SOUNDED LIKE TERRITORY, AND I LOVED IT FROM THE BEGINNING.  IT WAS GREAT. 

You have even been featured in the Hollywood movie Scorpion King in an off camera role and also in the popular video game GTA IV: The lost and the Damned. Say us about these two commercial projects?

THOSE ARE OFF THE WALL PROJECTS I DID.  I THINK IT WAS FUN BUT I PREFER TO PLAY METAL AND MAKE METAL ALBUMS. 

If I am mot wrong you are a keen player of eastern instrument Sitar. I was pretty amazed to know that you play it quite well. To be honest man i even started to respect you more after I found out about this.

YEAH, I HAVE A GUITAR/SITAR CREATED BY A COMPANY CALLED JERRY JONES.  I PLAYED ON EVERY SOULFLY INSTRUMENTAL SONG, AND I LOVE EASTERN MUSIC AND EASTERN INSTRUMENTS LIKE SITAR, TABLAS, DUDUK, ETC. 

Max, you are in a country where the metal scene is extensively healthy. How hard is it for a metal band to sustain their livelihood v.i.a music?

WE HAVE TO TOUR ALL THE TIME, AND THE ONLY INCOME IS FROM SHOWS AND MERCHANDISE.  THAT IS HOW WE AND MANY OTHER BANDS SURVIVE. 

Last night when I was having a talk with Gloria she was talking about Soulfly's tour from Wednesday (21^st Jan) tell us about it?

WE’RE GOING ON A CRUISE CALLED 70,000 TONS OF METAL, AND ARE PLAYING WITH CANNIBAL CORPSE, BEHEMOTH AND NAPALM DEATH.  IT’S GONNA BE GREAT.  I WANT TO BE ON TOUR THE WHOLE YEAR OF 2015.  BRINGING MY METAL TO THE MASSES. 

We are almost at the end now any message to the fans and bands from Nepal and this part of the world?

TO ALL THE METAL FANS AND METAL HEADS IN NEPAL, I HOPE TO SEE YOU ONE DAY.  IT WILL BE A DREAM COME TRUE TO PLAY FOR YOU!

Review regarding Show No Mercy III

So finally we are back with the review column.. This is going to be the 1^st review in the past few months. Before we start off we will like to wish you all a happy belated Shiva Ratri.  I hope you guys had an amazing time enjoying Baba jee’s Prashad.. Well talking about the event Show No Mercy is Sangeet Pathshala's Annual gig...

Featuring bands like UgraKarma Elemental (India) Binaash Vomiting snake(s) kaal(POKHARA) Horny Monks Breach not Broken ATROCITY Fragments the event  held on 17th Feb 2015 i.e day before yesterday in Purple Haze Rock bar..

First of all a round of applauds to the entire Sangeet Pathsala team for setting off a gig… We all are aware that SHOW NO MERCY is the annual gig of Sangeet Pathshala which happens every year in Shiva Ratri and this was the 3^rd installment of the gig..  We would also like to thank Pathsala for launching title track of RAKTAPYAS – III(ASURA SAMRAJYA) Feel free to Annihilate from the mighty Ronie Olson (Ex-Vomitory/Gehennah, currently Turbocharged) solo project Private war.

Well before we start off we will like to make you guys aware that this was the 3^rd gig in the period of 15 days. Must say that February is full of activities in the Nepalese Underground scene..

Well now starting off with the review. Yet having an awesome lineup the gig was just satisfactory.. It could have been much better then what happened. Way lots off flaws which we will talk about it below..

Starting up, the show was around 2 hours late which has been a normal thing in our scene resulting 2 bands Binaash and Ugrakarma couldn't play. But hey the organizers did one awesome thing. They announced HELL AWAITS gig which will constitute of Ugrakarma and Binaash on lineup and one more thing that made a wise announcement that those people who shall bring the ticket of Show no Mercy in that gig will have free entrance.. A round of applause to the entire team for this announcement.. Seriously you guys have earned my respect.  This is one good sign which clearly reflects professionalism and as well as the sign of scene getting more systematic day by day.. There were some things that annoyed me but the one that almost let me to leave the show was the sound system.. Probably one of the most annoying sound arrangements I have ever witnessed. I should be honest in this thing cause it was what everybody felt. I am not going to talk much about this and I hope the concerned people got what I am trying to say..

Starting up with the gig like I mention it was almost 2 hours delay, this has been the common thing in our scene. The gig was supposed to start at 11 but started around 2 pm.. 

Starting up with Fragments they opened the show.. Young band and also the winners of 11^th KcmICMC more practice and devotion is needed. I just want to say live up with your achievements. Mark my words you guys have potential and I am expecting much intensity from you guys in coming future.

The second band to play was ATROCITY a hardcore band fronted by former HATEBOOK’s frontman Navin. I really love this bands song Jhim Jhim sanu. The song I AM MOTE dedicated to Navin a.k.a mote himself is the bands new track … The band played 5 songs. They had Strangles former drummer Bikrant as guest drummer in their last 2  songs.. The thing that attracted me most about this band is Navin’s stage presence and interaction with the crowds. The thing that I didn't like was that the guitarist throwing his guitarist and leaving the stage. The guitarist was not able to hear properly in the monitor I can understand how annoying it becomes when you can’t hear what your bandmates are playing but throwing your gadgets and leaving the stage means you are insulting your instrument as well as the art of music. I just want to comment 2 things “Learn to tame your anger” and “Be prepared to play at any conditions if not simply leave the stage rather than throwing your equipments.” You guys need to be regular in practice “Ajja practice garnu paro dherai thau ma almalaiae ra chiplako thyo bajauda”. I hope you guys take my word seriously.

The third band of the show was Breach Not Broken.. You guys were amazing although I am not much in new age of metal but being honest I loved you guys stage presence.. The only thing I want to comment is Please don’t consume much time on adjustments every extra minute consumed affects the bands who will be playing later.. I hope you guys will consider this things in coming days..

After Breach Not Broken, Horny Monks hit the stage.. I really loved this band and they were pretty amazing. Manil was not playing as he was on Australia tour with Underside so Pranoya from Vomiting Snakes served the duty of bass for Horny Monks.. No comments for them I just loved them. Niroj man no one can predict you on stage. Keep that rocking moves going on..

The band that I was waiting finally came on stage my all time favorite Pokhara based Death Metal band Kaal I have been following this band from quite a long time. Being a fan of the band I felt upset that the band left the stage after they played 3 songs. They were supposed to play 5 songs. The band was continuously asking the sound person to adjust their sound in monitors but the sound crews were not able to work on it. I could easily see the irritation on the bandmates face.. The band tried their level best to cope but every thing has a limit and the band left as soon as they played their 3^rd track. Kaal is one of the elite death metal band of Nepal and every one were pissed off with the sound while returning home I heard some of our senior also commenting Worst Sound arrangements for one of the best Death Metal band of the country. I just want to comment one thing to the organizer; Guys please put some professionals on sound.

After kaal, Vomiting snakes entered the stage. One tight Post thrash metal band and one of my favorite band. This was probably the last show of their guitarist Rozan as soon he is going abroad in a matter of a month . The band members are also the organizers of the show.. Massive response from the crowd we could feel meat everywhere in the pit.. I don’t want to comment anything to the band performance. The only thing that hit me was that being the organizer themselves it would have been awesome if they could have canceled there set or have squeezed their set least one of the two bands who were unable to play could have played.. Even though the band was pretty amazing, the band could have earned much respect if they had done it. Talking about there set they always urge me to hit the pit..

Since it was almost 6.25 the other band was the final one. Elemental from India was the last band to perform. Recently they had played in BIG69 and we could see the shows impact on the bands performance as well. Bad blood is one of my favorite track of Elemental. To be honest they ripped my heads off. Amazing stage performance, my jaws were open witnessing Anchal the bands frontman moshing and singing. I was shocked hearing his vocal range. Everyone were moshing and even their music urged me to pack my things and enter the pit. This guys do have amazing stage presence and were constantly communicating with the crowds which is pretty amazing.. I just want to say loved them..

Since it was already 7 so Binaash and Ugrakarma set had to be cancelled. In short two bands were not able to play.. This has been a common problem in here in Nepal from past few years. It’s been a long time since the entire lineup has not been able to play on the shows. Sometimes the venues time limit is the problem and sometimes security officials. Well in SHOW NO MERCY the situation was in the organizers favor and they were not able to grab this opportunities.

The some of the plus points of the show were

·         Opportunity to young bands.

·         Variation of genre in the lineup.

·         Announcement of HELL AWAITS gig which will constitute of Ugrakarma and Binaash in lineup as they were unable to play due to time limit.

·         Organizers made a wise announcement that those people who will bring the ticket of Show no Mercy in HELL AWAITS will have free entrance.

Drawbacks were

·         Annoying sound system.

·         Wrong attitude of ATROCITY’s guitarist throwing his guitars.

·         Bands consuming way lot of time on sound adjustment.

·         Crowds were also talking that the show has lost its charm.

·         Binaash and Ugrakarma were not able to play there slot

Suggestions:

·         Allocation of time frame must be done to every band.

·         A trained sound engineer is a must to handle sounds.

I just want to say one thing to the crowds IT’S A METAL GIG NOT SOME MAINSTREAM GIG SHOW HORNS INSTEAD OF CLAPPING.

Now rating the gig personally I am also not happy cause I had an instance headache after I came back home and I assume many of us had the same problem. So rating the gig.

Last night we had talked with the organizers and as per them...

"The show is all about celebrating the Mighty Lord Shiva's birthday with extreme music. We urge all metal music lovers to be the part of it and support us like previous two events.. This year we have come up with an experimental lineup featuring variety of genre of metal music.. Join us and celebrate the mighty lord Shiva's birthday with us... And Show No Mercy in the pit... See you all tomorrow in the pit."

Well talking about our view the lineup is killer one.. We can assure you about that.. The only band that you guys are not familiar are Elemental (India).. Trust us they are ready to assault your brain... Few hours back we had talked with Anchal there frontman and they are already on the way to devastate Kathmandu... Talking about them just a few weeks back they opened for Fleshgod Apocalypse in BIG69... These 4 Bastards are for sure gonna create chaos especially there frontman's stage presence will urge you all to enter the pit...

We urge the entire metalheads on town to witness this event... Its going to worth single penny you paid to witnessed the event... Some more announcement will be made during the gig...

Valentine Massacre Article

VALENTINE MASSACRE III ( tribute to wakk thuu )   

Is the ultimate tribute to the the most hated Grindcore bastards Wakk Thuu. The band splitted out due to there priorities 

As per Aabeg, "As many of you may have noticed, Wakk Thuu have not been around much over these past couple months. The reason for this absence, as many of you may have guessed, is that they have decided as a whole to call it quits..they are all moving on their personal lives and it’s very hard to keep a full-time band going while maintaining work, family ,jobs and relationships.i personally feel that they left the music scene on good terms .Every show they have ever played, from their very first to very last, were and will be an amazing time forever.as a good metal brother and a fan personally, i don’t want this to be a sad goodbye but want them to leave on a good note. i am Not hoping for them to regroup, but i would like to send these grindcore bastards some kind of "farewell". Thats the least i can do after beeing a fan and brothers in arms for years Just because you won't meet a person again in your life doesn't mean you should not say them goodbye :). So make sure to attend the gig this feb 14th and come hang out with us and wakk thuu.. i would love if you could change the attitude a lil bit and appreciate the work and past three years they have invested into music scene. Grind on"

Interview with Poland based Death Metal Band Christhole

Before we begin we will like to wish you all a Happy New Year 2015. We are starting our year with

Christhole

 Interview. They are one killer Death Metal band from Radom Poland.  Since the interview is given by the entire members so we have colored as per the band members.  Special thanks to Iiona for the translation.Red – all voice.

Greetings how are you guys doing in Radom? 
Hi people. Like what are we doing? We’re sharply playing, drinking, taking drugs, fucking and living.
And we want to present little history, because we’re write from very far away ... in the end  from Poland to Nepal we dont have a direct freeway;] What a pity!
We are from Radom - city is famous in Poland thanks to "Radom Weapon Factory" - which produced weapons before Second War Of The Worlds , the city also known for the manufacture of cigarettes - the so-called "Radomskie" (don’t produce them anymore). The city also known for riots of June 1976. When was start a rebellion in our country because government radically raised food prices and the workers got pissed off and went to the streets and fight with the militia (rebellion is  in our blood, hehe!) Radom is now known for cunning woman  in Poland and named as ‘The Queen of Polish Internet’. 
A little geography? You have to look in the middle of Europe. About 100 miles on south of the Polish capital city- Warsaw, Christhole's have a den. Look at a map to find us!

Christhole how did the journey begin?
This is a such a long story so we won’t write to much about this. Generally, it was that all of us had a musical past and were idle "doing nothing" and after a long time when we all meet in the bar we came up with the idea to start over again and we started CHRISTHOLE.

Christhole what does the band name mean?
Rzeczy – drummer) Hmm ..... it probably sounds pretty clearly. Right? The interpretation by which a hole comes on and for further elaboration, we leave that to our fans ;-)
(Pasut – vocalist) The best interpretation of our band name I've ever heard is that the name of our band is supposed to symbolize "The Stigmata" xD

Tell us about the bands lineup?
Actually the band lineup is a little bit different then at the beginning. Every band knows that you need to develop, improve. Not all member know how to do it  or have priorities and leave the band. In our case, the bands guitar player and later a vocalist left . The new guitar player is Jacek Dwojak and vocalist  Patryk ‘Pasut’ Płokita. The other musicians are : Krzysztof ‘ Kylo’ Graczyk – guitar, Roman Piotrowski – bass and Marcin ‘Rzeczy’ Rzeczycki – drums.

Recently on 21st Nov you guys played at POLMETAL FEST 2014 and 22nd Nov at Thrash Attack Lublin #7 tell us how was the gig?
- POLMETAL FEST 2014 is one of a kind music festival that we our self organize with our own conception and own forces. It turned out that it was a shot in the 'ten', because people were waiting for that event for a long time in our sad and gray city.  Bands from Polish cities like „Pravia” from Warsaw, „Youdash” – Rzeszów, „Infernal Bizarre” – Łowicz, „R.O.D”. – Lublin and from our city - „Fractal”played in the gig. It was one of the best concert that Radom witnessed. The playing bands were satisfied with the event too. There was a massive crowd response that Radom witnessed in long time. In short the event was successful and the event will have its sequal in 2015. The gig in Lublin was great but we are a little bit ‘tired’.
Regarding „Thrash Attack Lublin #7” This band from Belarus ‘Posthumous Blasphemer’ they played very well they were killer. You must observe the local Belarusian scene they stands a good level of technical death-metal.

-Any new updates of gigs?
-Of course we have a plan for spring, as our drummer is expecting a child so . He needs to spend more time in home with his baby and wife. When the child grows up, we will go to play somewhere and finally make a record.

As we all know that the scene of Poland is well renowned for its extreme scene and have killer bands like Vader, Behemoth, Decapitated tell us what inspired you guys to start death/grind band?
Hmmm… music which one we play as you know isn’t really mainstream and not really popular. This is music for ‘Chosen’, so what can be the inspiration to play that type of music? Real love for this. It’s In our hearts.
When it comes to lyrics inspire "traumatic stories", encompassing the brutality and severe social topics. Abortion, Irish ghosts, the current dominance of Islam in the world (Middle East, ISIS, terrorism), the new world order, the story on the facts as gay raped and then ate his lover - these are just examples. What's better - as one of the few bands of this caliber and species in Poland. We often sing in their native language than in English. We believe that this will quickly reach the public what they want to convey. Sometimes in talks over with the people someone says something like: ‘This piece sounds like Suicide Silence on vocal ‘, ‘oh… and this drums as’ Morbid Angel ‘’,’ it's like an old school thrash metal’. This doesn’t mean that following the examples on someone - the music comes out of our chaos ragged minds. Each one of us brings something of themselves - doing it with passion. Is a only confirms that we play from the depths of the soul and the brutal beating hearts. This is particularly apparent in the fact that our playing is hard to classify.
Have you heard about death / grind. Some people define our music as deathcore. We aren't interested in the discrimination - the important thing is that it's power, it's brutally and bloodily.

Tell us guys how your journey in Metal Music begun?
That’s such a long story…. 
- Firstly I will tell you my story… In the beginning it was a chaos… something like a disco… pop and power metal shit. A turn came in  my taste when  I was heard “Metal Heart” –  I was crazy. After that was „Reign in Blood by  Slayer” then  I gave my soul for Devil!
-As for me… my story started about old ’Sepultura’ at the aged 15 and it opened my eyes to what I am doing now. It all began with 3 albums: ‘Chaos AD’, ‘Arise’, ‘Roots’. Then everything goes on and I was fascinated. I wanted to (shout? call? noise?) and I’m fulfilling my dreams  for about 6 years. People who are reading this - if someone wants to make life difficult by saying that,  you sound like a shit and even though you really want to reach your goal in (shout? call? noise?)  - from my experience i will say that there are a lot of tutorials of vocals on  youtube!  and I would recommend "The zen of screaming." I learned some techniques from this tutorial .

Apart from Christhole what do you guys do?
- Each of us has a professional career that gives you less or more satisfaction. Vocalist is studying history and it sounds strange, but ... also writes poetry. ... anyway ... it's just like in the first question.

You guys belong to one of the most healthy metal scene in the world, and being a Death/grind band tell us how hard is it for the upcoming bands like Christhole in Poland?
No it isn't easy, because it isn't "popular" music. Besides, you have to be as original to stand out in our country, which I hope comes to us in small steps. Of course, these days thanks to online music applications, social networks, it is much easier to stand out from the underground, than a dozen years ago .... for us playing CHRISTHOLE however, is primarily a fucking great fun and enjoyment of music. We dont want to make a total committed career in metal music, Yet, deep inside everyone's dream about it.

So any message to the metal community beyond Poland?
-Thank you very much for the interview.
