Zombie X Incest an aspiring Power violence act from Kathmandu

Zombie X Incest an aspiring Powerviolence act from Kathmandu,Nepal. A few days back we had a small talk with their frontman Kshitiz Lamsal.
Toknow more about them you can check their page as well.   https://www.facebook.com/zombiexincestband

Before we begin, we would like to know what actually Powerviolence is.
Powerviolence is a form of hardcore punk, a blend of punk with faster riffs, and blast beats and aggressive vocals. It can be said that Powerviolence is just a aggressive form of punk!

Well was not aware of this genre. Before we go any further can you say us something about Zombie X Incest?
Zombie X Incest is a band formed in 2013 by Kshitiz, Anish and Abhaya. Rakesh later joined for filling bass duties. I and Anish were playing in a slam project which fortunately didn’t work for us. However we had the desire for music, so we decided to start a new band. We wanted to do something different so we started playing this genre which is something new in the scene. The backbone of our band Abhaya joined the band then, and Bassist Rakesh made our band complete!

We found out that you guys are the only Powerviolence band from Nepal is that true?
We know allot of bands which play similar genres but they don’t label their genre as Powerviolence. So i guess, yes!

Zombie X Incest what does the name mean?
Well, in present world, people have become very selfish. They try to satisfy their needs by destroying others. In Nepali we call it "Khutta tanne chalan", and that’s what zombies do; others' flesh and blood for their survival. Incest, the word is pretty gross, and it tells that people are losing their morals and principles. So Zombie X Incest is a name that tells you that humans have become more like zombies, without their morals and principles!

Interesting so valentine massacre was the first gig of Zombie X Incest that i witnessed and trust me guys you guys didn’t sound like it was your 2nd gig as Zombie X Incest.
Haha, thanks for the humble words brother! Even you guys didn't make us feel it was our second gig. Everyone was nice and welcoming.

Personally leech is my favorite can you say us how hard is for you guys to come up with a genre that is considered pain in the ears?
Well, you always have to struggle when you come up with something new. For example, you have to play that shit till the listeners get the idea of what it actually is, and once they get the idea, they will start digging your stuff! I guess it was the same when death metal and thrash were new genre back then. Now the people are used to it and eventually they will be used to the genre we play too.

Yeah for sure by the way can you say which bands influence Zombie X Incest?
Well there are allot of bands that influence us. Spazz, Charles bronson, Man is the bastard, Shannon Scam, Jugaa, Sangharsha, Antichrist demoncore, Magrudergrind, Infest and so on. There are just so many bands to name. Haha

Does incident in life affects the music you guys make?
Yes. Almost everything in life. We are very much frustrated with the current situation of our country, the corrupt politicians, the ignorant citizens (yes, the BUDDHA WAS BORN IN NEPAL types, and intelligent fuckers), and education system. All these stuffs are mixed in our lyrics, and are expressed with extreme rage and aggression. If you ask me, you can never be a good musician, if you don’t feel your music, and you feel your music when it is attached to you, any way!

Exactly. So you guys are new in the scene how far have you guys got support and help?
Everyone we have met has been supportive. Till now, we have met the right people who have given us suggestions as well as chances to play in gigs. Vishal dai, Aabeg dai, you are some of those very nice people who have supported us till date. In addition, our own band mate, our drummer Anish dai is organizing a gig which is taking place very soon!

Yeah if i am not wrong it’s on Saturday 1st of March. Infact i am really keen to attend that gigs. So guys we want to know at least 10 albums one must have?
Tough choice actually! But here are some
1. Jugaa- Hamal Hardcore
2. Spazz- Crush Kill Destroy
3. Charles Bronson- Youth Attack
4. Integrity- Those who fear tomorrow
5. Disrupt- Strip Mine Contamination
6. Antichrist Demoncore- The second coming
7. Magrudergrind- Every album!!!!!
8. Integrity- Detonate VVorld Plague
9. Man is the bastard- Mancruel
10. Infest- No man's slave
These are some Powerviolence/hardcore/grindcore albums i love the most. I also listen to a lot of death metal; thrash metal and other genres which i am unable to fit in this TOP TEN list. Haha

Haha so can you tell us your dream lineup with whom you guys dream to share a slot?
Every band which we consider our idols...As i said earlier, just too many to name..

Yeah. We are almost at the end any project in pipeline?

Few gigs in coming days, and we are thinking of recording a rough demo too within few months. That’s it!

Any message to the fans , fellow band mates as well as the organizers?
To the readers, and gig attenders, don’t follow the trend, because it will die someday, support real music because it lives for ever. Keep supporting us, keep supporting new bands. And to the fellow bands, be real, be what you are. I am tired of you guys being so underground that your gig flyers are printed in national newspapers. And to the organizers, support new bands, don’t run after the famous ones, give the new ones some exposure! That’s it!

Lastly a space for you to ask if we SNRMB team has forgotten to ask you can ask us here?
I think you have covered almost everything. Thank you for taking your time interviewing us! And yes, vultures will feed this march 1 at fluid bar, thamel. Attend the gig and show some support! Cheers!

Sure we will and best wishes for the gig.
Thank you! Good luck to Snrmb team too!

Biography Grimorium Verum

Name: Grimorium Verum

The dominating emergence of Grimorium Verum (GV) in 8 August 2009 was more of a heavy duty shred in the underground metal music scene. Since then it is playing its role as a forge in metal arenas of Bangladesh by organizing and performing numerous metal gigs and concerts especially out of Dhaka where metal music is still struggling for its ground.

All its members are well renowned for their heavy and dexterous performances; their organized and collaborated gigs especially with Noise Factory (The musician and listeners forum of Khulna University, Khulna and Bangladesh), Music Feast Club and other organizers have iconized them as one of the pioneer organizers outside Dhaka. Even from before the formation of the band was each of their members had received ample admiration as the most skilled metal artists due their extensive musical backgrounds.

In the period of 2004-2008, Niaz and Imtiaz formed ‘Artemis’ - a thrash metal band along with Priyotosh (Wild Station), Sezan (Worship Ceremony) and Uzzal. In 2007 Niaz and Imtiaz got admitted in Khulna University and along with Uzzal they brace on their voyage with Artemis. Artemis took part in scores of underground concerts in RCC (Dhaka), Nazrul Institute (Dhaka) and other well-known venues.

The other guitarist Shupto used to work in Rude Talkers’ in 2005 with some of the accredited musicians of Dhaka. The band Rude Talkers participated in ‘IAC’ (Independent Artist Club) organized by Nokia. After admission in Khulna University, he started to jam with Rip String. The vocalist Emon and the drummer Nibir had a band named ‘Death Rattle’. Then in 2009, they all started jamming together in ‘Noise factory’ after Emon and Nibir joined them.

Then in august 2009, they felt to create music in heavier mode and the band Grimorium Verum was formed and the band first emerged in a concert named ‘Virtual Speaker’ in Khulna. The band turned more and more belligerent as the time rolled. Rocky and Pritum were the two who looked after everything else to make it possible for the band members to cope up with the swelling BPM. Right now Rocky is also working as the manager and sound Engineer for the band.

The compositions and songs of GV are mostly influenced by neo classical, blues and extreme melodic death metal genre. While the symphonic harmonizes pronounced the melody of their music, the heavy riffs, bass lines, grinds and brutal vocals exaggerated the power. The momentous lyrics by Shupto, Imtiaz and Emon expressed the depth of their works and provided the basis for the heavy music.

Grimorium Verum promises to make their music heavy, symphonic, brutal with thematic lyrics. Its motivation is to make metal as a weapon which will rise against the dark side of society, politics and religion. Grimorium Verum has the intention to make Bangladeshi metal practice as a globally recognized figure along with all the metal brotherhood around the world.

GRIMORIUM VERUM was one of the participating acts of "METAL ASIA COMPILATION" which produced and released online by Vengeance Music (Pakistan) and The Flaming Skull Podcast (India) on 2010. Both records has come together to put out a first ever full Asian Extreme compilation (80 bands) in which some amazing bands from this continent have been featured with leading Acts from Middle East, Pakistan , Singapore, India, Thailand and Bangladesh. The Compilation has been a digital download and has been streamed On Myspace for long period. This whole digital compilation was featured through numerous website, zines and Radio worldwide and internally within Asian Underground Metal Network.

And the state line was, And get as many people from Asia and the world to join in, as we make a statement by showcasing the quality metal bands from this side of the world.

Review Valentine Massacre

14th Feb many people were either spending love times with their loved ones. Some were enjoying in S.W.A.G parties. In this day their were activity in the underground scene as well. As far as I know 2 gigs happened in the valley of woods one in Lalitpur Red Devils Pub whereas the other one in Fluid Bar Kathmandu. We were only able to cover one event. We attended Valentine Massacre II which happened in Fluid Bar Thamel.
So let’s begin with the lineup. It was as follows
·         Nihility
·         Raven
·         Zombie X Incest
·         Calamitian
·         Nude Terror
·         Aakrosh
·         Undefined Human
·         Vomiting Snakes

The show Started at 1430hrs. Opening was done by Nihility Technical/Brutal Death Metal Act all way from Banepa.  Then it was followed by Raven then followed by Zombie X Incest then Calamitian , Nude Terror, Aakrosh , Undefined Human and finally Vomiting Snakes. Must say it was a well managed gig. So let us go in detail.

VALENTINE MASSACRE II 2014
So talking about the gig, it started at 1430 2 and half hour’s delay. It seems Delay has to become a culture in the scene. Even though it was delayed by 2 and half hours the entire event was well managed. Must applaud Aabeg and the entire Dying Out Flame crew for backing out being the organizer as well as the co headlining bands. Thanks to their backout that entire bands were able to play their slots. This is a sign of true musician, organizing an event themselves and seeing that other bands cannot get time to perform, cancelled their own slot. I guess this is rarely done by any artist. Their act made them earn my more respect. In this gig two bands made my day I will come about those bands later. Now leaving my feelings haha coming to the gig .One thing I want to say to all drummers out their “Gig ma auda chai afno pedals lera au hai. Its better you bring your own gadgets and things you need apart from the drum kit.”

Coming to Nihility they are a Technical/Brutal Death Metal act from Banepa. This was my second time that I saw them live and trust me they were terrific must say the band made my day. Inner feeling “I had camera on my hand or else I would have joined the mosh” came to my nerve hearing them live. One message to the band keeps up your work don’t worry about getting gigs just practice and be more devoted to your music . I hope for the best of this band and I see this band has a bright future if they remain consistent.

Then comes Raven a Death Metal Act from Kathmandu. Guys I guess you didn’t take my words seriously. Stop wasting time on stage. I guess you guys should be well prepared while entering stage. Comeon guys “Stage ma chire pachi zoom ko battery change garne atti nai bhayo hai.” You guys were terrific but still be well prepared and check your equipments before entering the stage.
Zombie X Incest an aspiring Hardcore/grind act from Kathmandu. If I am not wrong this is their 2nd gig and probably their drummer Anish second last gig. Guys your set was awesome yet some mistake did happen. Their bassist was not able to perform due to some reason but still the 3 piece played quite well and I saw many people banging and moshing. Some errors were their but I am quite sure it will be eradicated in coming gigs.

Then Calamitian a Slamming Brutal Death Metal act from Lalitpur. I want to ask them “Man what did you guys ate before you guys entered the stage. Fucking sick and Brutal.” I have seen these guys playing from quite a long time and I had heard you guys created chaos in Pokhara during BURIED ALIVE but in this gig trust me people I must say this was your best performance WAS THE BEST . You guys made my day. Everyone was moshing and headbanging on these zombies slot. If I am asked to name the best slam band from Nepal then now the 1st name that comes on my mind and mouth will be CALAMITIAN for sure.

Hunger started to roll of so I was not able to witness NUDE TERROR’s slot. I am not going to speak anything regarding them cause I was not present during their slot. I arrived when they were playing their last song.

Aakrosh I guess I don’t have to speak about them. Every gig that I witness them playing they are sounding much intense and brutal. This band will be the dark horse in NEPALESE DEATH METAL SCENE. Awesome set.

Undefined Human an aspiring Death Metal Band from Hetauda. Seeing their face one could say that they were not happy with their slot. Drummer was not able to hear anything and I could see Sabin trying to communicate with Rajat through eye to eye contact. They refused to play after playing 2 songs as they were not able to hear properly.

Lastly Vomiting Snake. A Post Thrash Metal Band from Kathmandu. This was the first time I saw this band performing and trust me seeing their face we could make it out that the entire members were enjoying. Especially the Bassist. They were terrific and were enjoying themselves which is a main thing intense mosh . I liked their song Kranti the most. Awesome set. I wish this bands best wishes for their future events.

Now coming to the main point.
·         2 and half hour of delay that doesn’t make sense. Bands coming without their drum pedals. I guess bands should come well prepared and well equipped.
·         Even in such delay of 2 and half hours bands all bands were able to complete their slot as per the contract time i.e. 1800hrs,
·         Again the same problem of sound system Inadequate monitors. I have a message to guys from PATHSHALA Bijay , Rajiv sound was awesome but monitors ample bhena.
·         Awesome sound on output. Happy to see that the sound engineer comes from a metal background.
·         Maximum crowd’s participation if I am not wrong then the crowd was around 150.
·         Message to the bands YOU ARE THEIR TO PERFORM SO COME WELL EQUIPPED.

Well now time to rate the gig seeing all factor and talking with the bands. It will be appropriate to rate the gig

                                                             (8/10)

Interview with NERVECELL's guitarist Barney Ribeiro

I guess we don't have to say much about them. If you want to know much about them you can go through following links.
https://www.facebook.com/nervecell
http://www.nervecell.net
http://www.twitter.com/nervecellband
http://www.myspace.com/nervecell
http://www.reverbnation.com/nervecell
Before we begin can you say us in brief about NERVECELL?
The band started back in 2000 in the Dubai, UAE. It was basically a bunch of friends I had made in university who also play other instruments and had an interest in metal, which helped out. We obviously just wanted to get together and jam for fun. I had played in lot of other bands before that but only focused on cover music. So when I formed the band the idea was now to write original music and play a mix of covers too just enough for us to get gigs to perform at. So in 2001 we enrolled to perform at the battle of the bands held in Abu Dhabi and we had to come up with a name before submitting our band in...So we had a week to give in our detail + demo and we ended up going with Nervecell. That’s how it all began with the first line-up. It was special for us right from that very first gig we played though, as we won "Most Creative Band" and surprisingly I was even picked up the award for "Best Guitarist" haha.

Haha from 2000 until now how has the journey been so far?
It's been a roller coaster man; I'm 30 years old so Nervecell has been a part of me and my identity for half my life pretty much! Nothing was ever easy, especially being a metal band from the Middle East, a lot of people look at us and think we got lucky and that’s why we broke through internationally. The truth is we were a local band for the longest time (7 years) and we still are based in Dubai until this day. We stuck to our beliefs and we were never out to break any records or make any records. We did this purely for fun and because we had a passion for extreme music. There was and still is a lot of a compromise that each member in the band goes through and it surely was more of a struggle to get to where we are today! I distinctively remember growing up and being in the early stages of the band we would get together for weekends and jam and after we were done we would have dinner together and watch videos of Metallica or footage of bands performing at Wacken Open Air and think "Man how cool would that be to play there or open for these guys?”. And who would of thought couple of years later that's exactly would ended up happening with us! So its moments like that that actually make us realize that we are doing something right and all the sacrifice we have underwent to get here was all worth it at the end! It's be a hell of a ride to say the least man, I never thought growing up that I would share the stage and tour with the bands that have actually influenced me (Metallica, Suffocation, Morbid Angel for example) and be able call some of them friends today! We have been very fortunate to be able to do what we have been doing with Nervecell for all these years and we will forever be grateful to all the fans, friends and our families for their constant support and belief in us too!

If we are not wrong Nervecell got international recognition after the SUMMER SLAUGHTER fest back in 2009 held in DUBAI?
There was never any Summer Slaughter Fest held in Dubai ever?

Saw that in a local zine few months back. By the way we will like to know the meaning of NERVECELL?
Nervecell is a mix of two words put together. Nerves being an essential part of the human body to function and the word cell derived from prison cell, a feeling where there is no escape. I used the word Nerve to depict the feeling of someone or somebody “getting on your nerves”, basically that state of frustration we all go through at times. With the addition of the word cell it adds that sense of being stuck within that breaking point and there being no way to escape it.

Interesting by the way how was your experience here in NEPAL co headlining DECAPITATED?
That was a great gig we had in Katmandu, Nepal co headlining the Nepfest in 2012. It was the first date on that Asian tour with us supporting Decapitated and it also the first time for both bands to play in Nepal, so we went there really not knowing what to even expect. We had a few more shows with the Decapitated after the Nepal gig, in Bangkok and Singapore etc. but I'd have to say the crowd in Nepal shocked us completely on that tour the most. Not because it was a festival and that the crowd was a lot larger but because of the enthusiasm and energy that the crowd had. That was what really made that show an exceptional one for us. The promoters too were very kind and they really took great care of us during our 3 day stay in Nepal. Oh and I also developed a new found love for MOMOS!

Haha for sure love and hunger for momo never dies.  So can we Say Nervecell as an Extreme Death Metal Band?
Yea you can say we are an extreme metal band or a death metal band. I feel we have a few more elements that just being a straight up Death Metal band, in Nervecell we are also heavily influenced by Thrash Metal too so you will hear hints of Thrash, Death and also a mix of melodies in our music too. It's not necessarily all brutal but in fact a mix of old school death metal with a touch of modern dynamics too. I think it’s very hard to write catchy extreme metal songs now days but in this band we strive to do that and write strong groove oriented extreme metal songs!

Actually i am a die hard fan of Nervecell and due to some serious issues was unable to witness you guys live and i am sure enough that in mere future will witness you guys live.
Yea I hope so too, we would love to come back and perform in Nepal again!

Was going through your video that you guys posted in your Youtube channel it seems you guys had a way lot fun touring Nepal, India, Srilanka, Philippines. By the way we want to ask you guys how did you find Nepalese crowd?
I kind of answered this question already in the previous question where I mention Momos...this is what I said = "we went there really not knowing what to even expect. We had a few more shows with Decapitated after that Nepal show, in Bangkok and Singapore etc. but I'd have to say the crowd in Nepal shocked us completely on that tour the most. Not because it was a festival and that the crowd was a lot larger but because of the enthusiasm and energy that the crowd had. That was what really made that show an exceptional one for us."

So how did you guys found the Nepalese Bands with whom Nervecell shared the slot?
Very impressive! I always admired bands from Asia in general a lot more, simply because I understand and realize how hard it is to be heard as a musician and to get out there playing music! When you factor in the culture and traditions of most Asian and Middle Eastern families you will notice a lot of the time parents don't even encourage their kids to listen to music in the first place. I know this because the first drummer we had in Nervecell back in 2000 was a Palestinian/Jordanian guy named Hatem, and his Dad had no idea his son even played the drums! So it's really a struggle more than anything. Of course now not all families are like that (Thank God!) but when you’re brought up in a society where music is not looked upon as a profession, then it takes a lot of courage for anyone to break out from the norm and stand up and chase their dreams! So to conclude I thought all the bands who I got the chance to see perform live in Nepal during that fest were great, none of them appeared as amateurs or anything of the sort. It was a great line-up and for me I was happy to experience it and to be a part of it.

Like you mentioned above about the society how hard is their in Dubai to bring up with a metal band. Along with that we will like to know about the scene their in your country?
Its hard just like anywhere else being a metal band, you just have to stick to your goals and stay committed. I think it has more to do with working with the right people, anyone can form a band but that doesn't mean anything if the music you write isn't good enough or strong enough. You need to stay persistent, be able to take criticism and play music for yourself first. I've seen many people jump on the band wagon just to say they have a "band" and break up 3 to 6 months down the line. It takes a hell of a lot more than just owning an instrument, you need to practice and stay committed and sometimes all it takes is working with other musicians who aren't as committed to demotivate you and eventually make you loose interest too. Fortunately in Nervecell James, Rami and I have had that common bond and genuine love for metal music which really was what brought us together as friends in the first place. As for the scene here, I'm not going to lie to you and tell you its blossoming because clearly Dubai has changed over the last few years. I remember the scene that I grew up in - 1998 onwards where local gigs would draw anywhere between 200 to 300 kids in the audience on average. Today a local gig no matter who is on the line-up would only draw 150 max! So clearly there is no loyalty factor in terms of turn outs here anymore. I put on shows for international metal bands myself in Dubai sometimes and even after having bands such as Obscura, Grave and Hate Eternal play in Dubai the turn outs are still between 150 to 180 max which is really disappointing to say the least! I guess it is what it is...I know I miss the earlier days myself for sure, the crowds were different, the bands were better and more mature and most importantly everyone respected each other regardless of the difference in genres that existed in the scene back then. We are the only band from Dubai who has put Dubai on the map when it comes to music as far as I'm concerned. We reached a level to where we are today not over night but after years of sacrifice and honest work. I will always be proud of that and everything that we have achieved thus far.

Well it’s a new thing for us to know that the scene there is not so good even though gigs are happening their. If I am not wrong, you guys are having a European tour. As far as I know you guys will be playing in Barther Metal Open in Germany. Brutal Assault in Czech Republic sharing stage with some killer bands like AMON AMORTH, OBITUARY as well as Headbangers Disaster fest in Austria. Its seems you guys have a tight schedule tour until September ending in Momignies Extreme fest in Belgium?
Yeah that's all true! Those are just some of the few confirmed festival dates where we will be performing at later this year in Europe.

Maximum of your time goes in tours and are you guys able to give time to your family and private issues. This things really haunts me when I go through the posts of bands on tours. Sometimes weeks and sometime for months, how far have you guys managed to give time to your family as well as band?
Family is always number 1 in our lives, without the support, patience and understanding of our families and loved ones we would never be able to pursue what we do in the band. We spend as much time as possible with our families. Our families understand that we want to make a career out of music and we have been very fortunate to hang on this long as a band, despite al the complications and obstacles we face in our daily lives. Being a musician is a massive compromise on your personal life, there is no doubt about it. Yet it's the path we choose!

Family is the basic priority. By the way we will like to know your best experience with NERVECELL?
It would probably be a tie between when we won the award for being the "All Time Best Selling Metal Band" in 2011 by Virgin Megastores (Middle East & North Africa region) and when we were asked to open for Metallica later that same year in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Ok Barney we will like to know that does the incident in life affects the music NERVECELL creates?
Yes 100%. Everything we go through and experience personally, be it negative or positive, it allows us to express ourselves via our music freely! I think it's the only outlet we have to voice our own opinions and allows us to put our point across on an incident or a situation we have faced in reality. James writes a lot of the lyrics in the band and he tends to add more of a story telling touch to the lyrics, so this way the listener if free to draw his or her own conclusions from it.

So Nervecell has Launched 2 full length album Psychogenocide in 2011 Preaching Venom in 2009 , along with that an EP Human chaos in 2004 along with that a Demo Vastlands of Abominations in 2003 and The tracks like All eyes in them, Shunq, National Plague ,Demeans, Ratios and Human Chaos has been evergreen songs of NERVECELL. We will like to know how did you guys approach Karl Sanders from Nile for featuring in Shunq?
Karl Sanders featured as guest vocals on the song “Shunq (To The Despaired…King Of Darkness)”. This song was mainly written in Arabic by James (bassist / vocalist) and we wanted to have somebody else sing the English parts in the song. We had given it some thought because we had never featured anyone in our music before, so the first person that came to mind was Karl Sanders since
a) We’re big fans of his work in Nile and
b) Because Nile are known for having this Egyptian mythology and themes in their music.
We also thought his singing style was distinct and would fit perfectly for the song. So we had our management get in touch with Nile's management to bring about this idea to them and they were fully supportive about it right from the start. Karl immediately asked for the track and the lyrics and instantly began working on his parts for the track from his home studio in South Carolina, USA. We filmed a video for the song as well later in the year once the album was out and had Karl come down and visit us which was a great experience altogether. We are constantly in touch with each other now and hopefully one day we can get Nervecell and Nile to tour together...that would be so sick!!

Yeah Nile and Nervecell would be sick. It would be like an ultimate chaos. Guys we will like to know how your first experience was in stage as Nervecell or the first time you guys went on stage.
That was back in 2001 at the Battle of the Bands in Abu Dhabi, we played 2 originals and 1 cover. I am the only original member still n the band from that initial line-up and I can tell you the music was different in so many ways back then haha. It was still extreme but not typically death metal either. The vocalist we had at the time was into a lot of American post hardcore bands and his vocals were really high pitch (completely different from James's vocals). The other members also were very different characters and had a very diverse taste in music and influences! Our bass player back then was into Korn and Nu metal. So as you can imagine we sounded like a hardcore band with death metal riffs and Dani Filth on vocals haha. What a mess! I remember the mood in the band was just to go out there and put on an intense set, that’s all that mattered to us!

That’s for sure Barney. So we will like to ask you what are the least 10 albums one should have in their collection?
Oh man...well the 10 that come to mind for me are (in no particular order):
Pantera - Vulgar Display of Power
Dismember - Like an Ever Flowing Stream
Suffocation - Pierced From Within
Sepultura - Arise
Cryptopsy - None So Vile
Morbid Angel - Domination
At The Gates - Slaughter of The Soul
Testament - The Gathering
Metallica - Master of Puppets
Deicide - Once Upon The Cross

Any message to the upcoming bands?
Star true to yourself and don't let anyone ever put you down.

Any message to the fans?
Thanks for all the support! We hope to come back and play in Nepal again someday

So Barney we are almost at the end of this conversation. So can you tell us your dream lineup with whom Nervecell would like to share the stage in future?
Haha that's an easy one to answer and it's actually real funny because after all these years of touring we still haven't crossed paths with either of the two bands. Anyway my dream lineup would definitely be: Cannibal Corpse Slayer Nervecell
Now if we can get that to happen it would be killer. One can only dream!

Haha yeah. Barney this has been one of my best interview Season until now i wish we could have taken it on and on but it has to come to an end now so here is the last question. Lastly a space for you anything we SNRMB have forgotten to ask you can tell us here?
I guess you didn't ask about whether we have been working on any new material or when is the new album coming out? Well it is something we have been working on a lot lately in fact and so the fans can definitely expect a new Nervecell album towards the end of this year!
Thanks for your time and for this interview my friend Cheers!

Interview with PUTERAEON (Swedish Death Metal Band) Guitarist Rune Foss

PUTERAEON is an Old School Death Metal From Sweden
To know much about Puteraeon you can follow them
http://www.facebook.com/PUTERAEON
Before we begin can you say us something about PUTERAEON?
PUTERAEON started out 2008 by vocalist/guitarist Jonas Lindblood in Alingsås, Sweden. He recorded three demos on his own and got hooked up by the German record label Cyclone Empire. He then made the decision that PUTERAEON should be a "real" band and started to recruit members. 2010 the line-was complete with Daniel Vandija on bass, Anders GS Malmström on drums and last man in was me on guitar and backup vocals. The first album, "The Esoteric Order" was recorded during 2010 and released 2011 and the second album "Cult Cthulhu" 2012. Our ambition is to create solid death metal with focus on writing good songs and skip all bullshit technical guitar masturbation and so on. Like we did back in the early 90's.

So how has the journey been so far?
It's been great. People seem to like what we do and about every show since the first one have been really great with pretty much people coming to the shows. We're really happy that so many share our taste in music.

PUTERAEON what does the name mean?
ROTTEN AEON

So can we say that PUTERAEON as an old school death metal band?
Yes, I guess. We're not aiming to sound old school, we just create the type of death metal we like the most and it's the late 80's and early 90's kind of death metal we like and we listen to.

So can you tell us something about the SWEDISH METAL scene although guys from Gehennah, Turbocharged and Vomitory has said us stuffs can you guys say us about your countries scene in your perspective?
The Swedish metal scene is turning pretty old. It has been going on for 30 something years now and metal is pretty much accepted all over Sweden. There are of course many types of metal being written and some are doing it for the money and fame and others are doing it all wrong and some are doing it the way metal was done from the beginning and with the same reasons: Fuck commercial crap and stay true to good songwriting.

Rune can you say us apart from PUTERAEON what other bands are or were involved?
A: We've all been playing in different bands before this. Jonas has been in TAETRE, DELETION, THORIUM. Rune has been in EXEMPT, AGGRO, RECLUSION among others. Daniel played with 13ITCH, ABSINTH & Anders played with ABSINTH, NOMINON, PROPHANITY, IMMEMOREAL among others.
I also played in One Man Army And The Undead Quartet and KILLAMAN

So guys we are sure that you guys have checked our NEPALESE DEATH METAL ACT how did you find them?
Fuck me; I didn't follow that page haha. We've seen through you guys. You seem to be very ambitious and on the correct side of the death metal business. Keep up the good work!

Thanks guys By the way me would like to know about the split album PUTERAEON / REVEL IN FLESH - Imperial Anthems Vol.13 - Split 7" EP..
We are about to release the split through Cyclone Empire. We are sharing vinyl with our fellow friends in death metal, our German brothers Revel In Flesh. We did a tour with them last summer and we had a blast. We recorded two new songs live at rehearsals with RZA Mobile Recordings and this is the result. Both songs "Rotten Aeon" and "To Steal The Flesh" will also be featured on our upcoming album but re-recorded.

Ok guys say us which band influence PUTERAEON?
There's not just one band. We're heavily influenced by the late 80's and early 90's scene with bands suchlike Napalm Death, Carcass, Dismember, Bolt Thrower, Morbid Angel, Death, Obituary, Sodom, Entombed, S.O.D, Pestilence and many more. All the bands that made a great impact on the whole metal scene.

"The Esoteric Order" in 2011 and "Cult Cthulhu" in 2012 i guess it was under Cyclone Empire how was the respond for the 2 albums?
Yes, CE released both albums. We've gotten really good reviews for both albums and we're obviously really thankful for them. The thirst for "old school" death metal seems endless these days.

2 songs are my favorites of PUTERAEON THE COMA and INTO THE DEEP . At least once a day i listen these tracks
Oh, thank you! They're both good songs from "The Esoteric Order", I agree. We never played Into The Deep live actually but maybe we should... Who knows! Coma is always on our setlist, we love that song and it is the most played Puteraeon song on Youtube. Coma was our first official video and it's a really special song to us.

Yeah for sure by the way guys any recent tours or gig updates?
We will do some shorter tours and single shows during 2014. Both in Sweden and around Europe but nothing outside Europe confirmed yet.

If we are not wrong then you guys will be hitting the road with TURBOCHARGED?
We don't have a tour scheduled with Turbocharged but they will join us and play at our release party this spring. It will be a blast!

So apart from the EP split any project in pipeline?
We will be featured on a compilation album released by Criticalmass.se. Our contribution is an unreleased live recording of the song "The Plague". Besides that we've just finished the mixing & mastering of our upcoming full-length album entitled "The Crawling Chaos". To be released in the end of April by Cyclone Empire.

Can you say something about the upcoming album?
We recorded this album ourselves actually. It consists of 11 songs in typical Puteraeon style but I think we really nailed the songwriting on this album. A lot of variety throughout the songs and cool arrangements. The album was mixed and mastered by King Diamond guitarist Andy La Rocque, and everything is packaged in a booklet with awesome paintings made by the same guy who did our previous artworks, Christoffer Fredriksson. H.P. Lovecraft is back again, of course!

Well seems interesting will be waiting for the album. By the way any message to the upcoming bands?
Be true to your self and never try to understand the music business. Nobody understand the business and those who think they do and creates music with focus on selling many albums will kill the business. Focus on your own creations and create music that make you smile. Don't give a fuck if people tell you that you music is shit, if you like your own music it's the right music for you to play. That will benefit you in a longer term.

True words guys we will like to know that does the incident in life affects the music that you guys create?
Hmm, not much in Puteraeon. We just focus on writing disgusting death metal that makes us smile.

Haha for the first time talking with many bands you guys only said that DEATH METAL makes you guys smile. Guys we would like to know apart from Puteraeon which band do you think will rise in long run.
I really don't know but music created by people being true to their music will prevail all bullshit music in the end.

Rune we will like to ask you how did your journey in Death Metal begin?
I heard Kiss on the radio and it was the song "Warmachine". From that moment I knew that heavy metal is the shit. Further on I listened to Mötley Crüe, Judas Priest, Accept and so on. 1986 I heard Metallica for the first time and to me that was an equal great moment as when I heard Kiss on. The radio. Metallica showed me the way to bayarea thrash and I quickly discovered bands like Slayer, Exodus and S.O.D. When Sepultura released "Beneath the remains" it became the first bridge between thrash and death for me and then I discovered Pestilence and Morbid Angel. I guess that's how my death metal journey was settled.
In Gothenburg we had the band Grotesque and they were awesome. I guess they helped me to find the path to death metal too.

Must check em out as well. Ok guys we are almost at the end. Can you guys say us 10 albums one must have?
This is impossible but I'll recommend you to listen to these albums, in no specific order:
Morbid Angel "Altars of madness" –
Pestilence "Consuming Impulse" –
Death "Spiritual Healing" –
Cannibal Corpse "Eaten Back To Life" –
Sepultura "Beneath the Remains" –
Entombed "Left hand path" –
At The Gates "With Fear I Kiss The Burning Darkness" –
Napalm Death "Harmony Corruption" –
Metallica "Ride the Lighting" –
Slayer "Reign In Blood"

Ok we will like to know your dream line-up with whom you guys want to share stage with?
Autopsy , S.O.D and Entombed. Can you arrange that please!! Entombed would be cool to tour with too. All four of us! Oh no, I want to tour with Terrorizer too.

Haha I wish I could brother any message to Nepalese bands?
Yes: Keep it up and feed the Nepalese metal scene and it will grow stronger and stronger for every effort you make. I really hope we can come visit you guys one day and tear some serious shit down in the name of metal. So to all you metal sisters and metal brothers: CHEERS!

Any messages to the fans?
Thank you all for your wonderful support. We really appreciate it. Please feel free to contact us or/and follow us at
"There's no bad weather, only bad leather".

So this is the last question. A space for you anything we SNRMB have forgotten to ask you can tell us here?
I must think for a while
