Zombie X Incest an aspiring Power violence act from Kathmandu

Zombie X Incest an aspiring Powerviolence act from Kathmandu,Nepal. A few days back we had a small talk with their frontman Kshitiz Lamsal.
Toknow more about them you can check their page as well.   https://www.facebook.com/zombiexincestband

Before we begin, we would like to know what actually Powerviolence is.
Powerviolence is a form of hardcore punk, a blend of punk with faster riffs, and blast beats and aggressive vocals. It can be said that Powerviolence is just a aggressive form of punk!

Well was not aware of this genre. Before we go any further can you say us something about Zombie X Incest?
Zombie X Incest is a band formed in 2013 by Kshitiz, Anish and Abhaya. Rakesh later joined for filling bass duties. I and Anish were playing in a slam project which fortunately didn’t work for us. However we had the desire for music, so we decided to start a new band. We wanted to do something different so we started playing this genre which is something new in the scene. The backbone of our band Abhaya joined the band then, and Bassist Rakesh made our band complete!

We found out that you guys are the only Powerviolence band from Nepal is that true?
We know allot of bands which play similar genres but they don’t label their genre as Powerviolence. So i guess, yes!

Zombie X Incest what does the name mean?
Well, in present world, people have become very selfish. They try to satisfy their needs by destroying others. In Nepali we call it "Khutta tanne chalan", and that’s what zombies do; others' flesh and blood for their survival. Incest, the word is pretty gross, and it tells that people are losing their morals and principles. So Zombie X Incest is a name that tells you that humans have become more like zombies, without their morals and principles!

Interesting so valentine massacre was the first gig of Zombie X Incest that i witnessed and trust me guys you guys didn’t sound like it was your 2nd gig as Zombie X Incest.
Haha, thanks for the humble words brother! Even you guys didn't make us feel it was our second gig. Everyone was nice and welcoming.

Personally leech is my favorite can you say us how hard is for you guys to come up with a genre that is considered pain in the ears?
Well, you always have to struggle when you come up with something new. For example, you have to play that shit till the listeners get the idea of what it actually is, and once they get the idea, they will start digging your stuff! I guess it was the same when death metal and thrash were new genre back then. Now the people are used to it and eventually they will be used to the genre we play too.

Yeah for sure by the way can you say which bands influence Zombie X Incest?
Well there are allot of bands that influence us. Spazz, Charles bronson, Man is the bastard, Shannon Scam, Jugaa, Sangharsha, Antichrist demoncore, Magrudergrind, Infest and so on. There are just so many bands to name. Haha

Does incident in life affects the music you guys make?
Yes. Almost everything in life. We are very much frustrated with the current situation of our country, the corrupt politicians, the ignorant citizens (yes, the BUDDHA WAS BORN IN NEPAL types, and intelligent fuckers), and education system. All these stuffs are mixed in our lyrics, and are expressed with extreme rage and aggression. If you ask me, you can never be a good musician, if you don’t feel your music, and you feel your music when it is attached to you, any way!

Exactly. So you guys are new in the scene how far have you guys got support and help?
Everyone we have met has been supportive. Till now, we have met the right people who have given us suggestions as well as chances to play in gigs. Vishal dai, Aabeg dai, you are some of those very nice people who have supported us till date. In addition, our own band mate, our drummer Anish dai is organizing a gig which is taking place very soon!

Yeah if i am not wrong it’s on Saturday 1st of March. Infact i am really keen to attend that gigs. So guys we want to know at least 10 albums one must have?
Tough choice actually! But here are some
1. Jugaa- Hamal Hardcore
2. Spazz- Crush Kill Destroy
3. Charles Bronson- Youth Attack
4. Integrity- Those who fear tomorrow
5. Disrupt- Strip Mine Contamination
6. Antichrist Demoncore- The second coming
7. Magrudergrind- Every album!!!!!
8. Integrity- Detonate VVorld Plague
9. Man is the bastard- Mancruel
10. Infest- No man's slave
These are some Powerviolence/hardcore/grindcore albums i love the most. I also listen to a lot of death metal; thrash metal and other genres which i am unable to fit in this TOP TEN list. Haha

Haha so can you tell us your dream lineup with whom you guys dream to share a slot?
Every band which we consider our idols...As i said earlier, just too many to name..

Yeah. We are almost at the end any project in pipeline?

Few gigs in coming days, and we are thinking of recording a rough demo too within few months. That’s it!

Any message to the fans , fellow band mates as well as the organizers?
To the readers, and gig attenders, don’t follow the trend, because it will die someday, support real music because it lives for ever. Keep supporting us, keep supporting new bands. And to the fellow bands, be real, be what you are. I am tired of you guys being so underground that your gig flyers are printed in national newspapers. And to the organizers, support new bands, don’t run after the famous ones, give the new ones some exposure! That’s it!

Lastly a space for you to ask if we SNRMB team has forgotten to ask you can ask us here?
I think you have covered almost everything. Thank you for taking your time interviewing us! And yes, vultures will feed this march 1 at fluid bar, thamel. Attend the gig and show some support! Cheers!

Sure we will and best wishes for the gig.
Thank you! Good luck to Snrmb team too!
