The Band minus six is
a band from Kathmandu and are aspiring talent from Nepal. They have not yet got some proper lineup sight from the
big organizers and until now they have really digged pit on there zone.
The interview was taken with there Front man Rajat A.K.A saithan....He is currently the Sound Producer at The Metal Institute

How did the band start?
We started the band when I (Rajat) came to Bhairawa from Kathmandu .I met some guys who were hungry to play some brutal stuff. To be honest we started Death Metal scene here, some people ignored, some people appreciated but still we’re doing what we love to do. Lately a new lineup is set as i have shifted to Kathmandu.
How the name Minus 6 did came?
Actually this part is very funny, we used to jam without giving our band a name .Once we got an offer from a local organizer for a concert and we were asked our band’s name, without any discussion our bassist told them ‘’Minus6’’. Infact Minus6 is a grave point . We were good with the name, we always wanted to have a simple, adjusted and a name which would be symbolic for our lyrics.
Where have you performed until now?
It’s been almost 3 years, we never been out of this zone. We played number of gigs around Butwal and Bhairawa.It would be pleasure and awesome to play outside of this territory which we played recently in
ides of march.
Any project on pipeline?
Nothing Yet.
Which band influences on your music?
There are number of bands like Sodom, Kreator, Slayer, Brutal Truth ,Control denied, Atheist, Dying Fetus so on and on. The top of the list is always vacant for Death . We’ve always been a huge fan of Death since our beginning.
For how long have you been playing?
It might be two and half year I guess.
Does incident and experience in life reflect on music you make?
Yes it does, you can see murders, rape, brutal gang wars going on and people still are enjoying the shit like kaanchi KO dimple parne gala.Their musical choice defines them . Different people have different choice of music. We’re just like other metal bands; we reflect the dark side of our community. We're our own enemy and best friend and in our music we also write about human behaviour which can be cruel infact disturbing and brutal than other lethal weapons.
Is there changes in your band lineup?
We’ve changed our practice room like underwear, Haha I’m kidding. Everyone knows that every band here are suffering the same problem. We have changed line up.
What do you think about Nepali Organizer?
There are some good people and bad people. It is unfortunate that we haven’t seen any organizers yet who did it for bands not for money. We’re hopeful that good people still exist.
Sometime we see clash among musicians and sound crew so what’s your view on that??
I guess it could be some sort of misunderstanding or might be some space where they have lack knowledge about themselves. We should treat each other with mutual respect and work as a team sharing the same dream.
Apart from Minus 6 which band do you think will come up as a Rock deily?
There are many hard working bands, I guess we’re not worthy to judge who is better or not. They are in huge number so it might be difficult to name one or two of them.
What do you want to say to the rock and metal music fans out there reading this chat?
Stay safe, keep drinking, keep smoking, keep rocking, keep doing what you love….haha what else could I say , I'm just one of them.
