How were you guys a.k.a Textures approached to play in silence fest III???
-It was a booker from Switzerland who came with the idea and we got it sorted pretty well when we got in touch with the organization there.

Textures have been on the run from past 10 years, how do you feel from the day one until now?
-We have gotten further than we ever dreamed off, and we are still going full-speed. 10 years ago we would have never thought we would play in Nepal, India, Russia and the USA, let alone all over Europe! Great times, and we're really enjoying it.

How was the band  formed?
-We started in 2000, with a goal of making “Progressive Metal”, and when we started writing, it came out heavier than we expected, which is good of course. Until a few months ago, Stef , Jochem and i ,we were
the only member left from the beginning, but the music has always stayed the way we wanted, no matter what changes we had on lineup. All of us have/had are fully committed to the music, so each one of us has ultimately contributed to the sound of Textures as it is now, it's an organic process, and we are proud of
how it all progressed.

Like there is a saying that the song Awake from your last album " Silhouettes" gave the band international exposure in a aggressive way do you agree with it ?
-It was a big boost yes. Our first album “ Polars ” was maybe the biggest boost we had, from there it all went very fast. But “ Silhouettes ” surely helped with getting further, also because “ Awake “ was a song that starts serene, and gets heavy in the middle, which a lot of people like.

So, regarding the work shop Stef and You had talked about “ Polyrhythm“ in music what actually does it mean?
-In short, it means multiple rhythms at the same time. In Textures we use some of those, but also we use a lot of patterns, which can trick the listener into feeling the rhythm in different ways. Still, with a lot of Textures songs, you can keep tapping along with the rhythms, some rhythms sound more complex than they really are. It has always been a challenge for us to experiment with different rhythms, but above all, keeping the groove….

How did you found the Nepalese Lineup during silence fest??
-Awesome !!! Freak Kitchen was a LOT of fun, “ 4 dead in 5 seconds” is a killer band! From each band I saw some songs, it's great to see so many cool Nepalese bands also, we didn't have a clue how the scene
would be over there, but it's great to see there are good bands, and also a LOT of metal fans over there!

How did you found the bands Representing Nepal?
-“ Underside ” is nice, professional and talented band!

Bart, what do you have to say about the Nepalese crowds and sound system in compared to the foreign gigs you have played so far?
-The crowd was amazing! We got 2 circle pits going, it went pretty rough down there, hahah! The sound system, crew and stage was very professional too, we didn't know what to expect either with this, but luckily it all turned out very organized.

Well last question for you, any message to the Nepalese Bands, Organizers, Crowds, Sound Roadies and various related people to Nepalese metal scene?
-We surely hope to be back soon, we miss Nepal very much! We love the weather, scenery & mountains, foods & spices, and of course our TRUE fans we have met over there! For them we would love to come back and crush some stage(s) again!

So Bart any new project in pipeline of textures?
-For now the plans are doing summer festivals, and then write a new album!
