Interview with Stoycho (Blasphemer Panzer) from Axecutor Bulgarian Speed Thrash Metal band

Axecutor is a Speed Thrash metal band from Sofia, Bulgaria. Formed in the early 2010 the band has shared stage with Legendary Australian thrash metal bands like Hobbs Angel Of Death ,Turbocharged and many more. Recently they are having there Europe tour (EXTERMINATION TOUR) and today is the last day of there tour . We had a short talk with Stoycho there frontman last month.
To know much about Axecutor you can go through there Facebook page..

Before we begin, we will like to know how you are guys these days.
Everything is good; we had a gig yesterday in Sofia. It was killer! There were some broken heads in mosh, even the public got crazy... Well we are preparing for the European Tour this May.

Well that is pretty amazing to know. Before we proceed we will like to know a bit more about the Bulgarian Metal Scene In your Perspective?
As all of them are in a good level from underground to commercial shits, the true underground is not so big. We are around 10 -15 bands, we play thrash, black and death, but we do support each other very much. We have serious support from fans too and I would say everything is how it must be - raw in a little circle, but only from real metal heads.

Well that’s a real good thing that there is a mutual helping and support to each other whether the scene is big or small that’s the thing which counts and matters. So guys can you tell us about how you’re Journey as AXECUTOR begin?
The band was formed like a cover project band form Tormentor and Enforcer in 2010 with not much ambition to be a serious band, but time went by gigs after gigs the people started liked the band more and more with the covers of Troops of Doom /Sepultura/, Sign of Evil /Violent Force/, Countess Bathory /Venom/ etc. Later the other songs had been done “Speed Metal Assault” and “Trace of Torment”. The people got insane in every gigs and it was the same time I was playing on bass in another thrash band and I could see Axecutor’s experience. Year later I left my first band, and in the mean time Axecutor was looking for a singer. I joined the band, it was a bit of story, but the real thing what gathered us is the metal that we worship, the metal from ‘80s!

Stoycho you guys have been thrashing since 2010. Recently you guys were a part of tour with VIOLENTOR and TURBOCHARGED in Feb how the gig was.
Actually we played with Turbocharged in Sofia this Feb and we were in support with two gigs of Hobbs’ Angel of Death in Sofia and Bucharest/Romania. Everything was excellent, the brotherhood was on the stage again and we burned the towns that winter. I will never forget those great moments together, both the trip and the gigs. The guys from the bands are really great, total metal heads and good friends. I would say we are a family.

A few days back I was going through your tracks and I found influence of Venom, Megadeath it seems like you guys music are inspired by them?
We are totally possessed by 80's metal. Yes, Venom, Bathory, Sodom, Violent Force, Sepultura (old), Possessed, Running Wild (old), Kreator (old) etc. This is the real spirit!

Can we know the recent lineup and we will also like to know what do you guys do beside AXECUTOR?
Since 2010 the band has had some changes. Now the band looks total ugly with me on the microphone, Tormentor – bass, Witcher – guitar, Enforcer – guitar and Vidas – drums. I work like digital artist in a cinema company in the other time I am just a drinker, Tormentor works in the company for vegetables and fruits, Witcher is electric technical instructor, Enforcer is a cook master – chef and Vidas is a bodybuilder.

Coming to your recent upcoming tour (EXTERMINATION TOUR) you guys are on Europe tour from 6th of May until 17th May. Can you say us more about the tour and the possible venues beside Croatia and Italy?
Well we are waiting for some dates in Slovenia and Hungary to be confirmed. At the moment we will have one in Croatia, three in Italy and three in Romania. Here, I want to say 'thank you brothers from Brotherhood Metal Club Florence and Romanian Thrash Metal Club for the support!' Alessio from Violentor invited us in Italy and this is how the tour has started like an idea.

As far as I have heard you guys are planning for a full length album and probably hitting studio by the end of 2014. Can you say us more about it?
That’s right, we have 4 new songs, We played one of them in the last gig. We are also planning on a video clip, but the record will start after the tour, maybe in the end of Summer.

So Stoycho apart from AXECUTOR are you guys involved in any other projects?
I had an invitation from Plamen Uzunov a good friend of mine, from the power/prog band Project Arcadia to sing on a song. He wants to play thrash sometimes; I do support his project with the lyrics and vocals. The project is called Evilator. You can check it out!

Now let’s refresh some old memories. So guys tell us how your journey in metal music begin .We will like to know your source of inspiration who drove you guys in this genre of music?
Well, I am a metalhead since 1993. In Bulgaria the metal music was forbidden from the communist system before 1989, but after the change, the end of the 80's and the beginning of 90's the East Europe and Bulgaria was a fucking metal revolution. Here in this place to be metalhead means a point of view, means a position against the system. My home town was full of metalheads with denim, spikes, leather jacket etc. They gave some tapes and when I listed for first time “The evil that men do”, the speed metal from first albums of Blind Guardian, Mercyful Fate, Sodom that changed my life.

So we will like to ask you guys what are you all listening nowadays well it can be of any genres?
At the moment I am at work and listening Mandator “Initial Velocity” in my headphones, just a killer speed metal from Netherlands. I usually listen the early 80's hard and heavy to brutal death metal. My choice depends from what is my emotional condition is at the moment. The last months I listened the new stuff from Burstn‘ Out, Triumphant, Gehennah, Bulldozing Bastard, Obsessor, Motor. My fav styles are heavy/speed/thrash/death/black together or separately.

Going Beyond AXECUTOR we will like to know about some Bulgarian bands one must hear at least once as we are not aware of the bands from there. I am sure there are bands that our viewers will like to listen or must listen at least once from your country Bulgaria?
You should really check out Mass Grave. They are really a killer death metal band. Upyr is another name; they are satanic/black/doom with awesome atmosphere on the stage. Check out Belgarath, good friend of ours, with evil northern black metal.

I have just listened some of your tracks and personally I loved Cryptic Death. Again coming back to the tour again can we expect some new tracks?
Yes, as i said before we are playing our new song “War” from the last few gigs and of course we will play all of our songs from the demo “Speed Metal Assault” and the Ep “Aggressive Extermination” plus some covers.

So almost at the end any message to the bands and as well as to the fans from this part of the world?
Unfortunately I don’t know too much for the metal scene of this side of the world, but in fact that you are making this much, is a good sign. I am just happy that we are a part from your metal world from this moment with your compilation and interview! I wish you the metal scene there to be more and stronger like a stage of maniacs! Just believe in yourself!

Lastly a space for you to ask if we SNRMB crew has forgotten to ask you can ask us here?

It would be really interesting to know how the metal stage is on your side. Thank you very much for the interest and support! Cheers to all maniacs there and hope to see play one they there! Stay true!
